MISSION

TUFFSHOT is designed to test the skills that matter beyond the practice range.

Movement.

Composure.

Decision-making.

Shot execution.

Whether you're preparing for western hunting season or simply looking for a challenge, TUFFSHOT places competitors into realistic situations where physical effort and precision intersect.

Trial 003 expands the format into two completely different events over one weekend.

Register for Saturday, Sunday, or both.

SATURDAY – COMPOSURE UNDER PRESSURE

Saturday returns to the original TUFFSHOT format.

Stage 1 – Pack In

Carry your weighted pack and bow through varied terrain while engaging multiple shooting scenarios.

Poor shot execution will result in additional penalties.

Stage 2 – Pursuit

Head-to-head physical challenges followed immediately by archery.

Expect a combination of sled drags, carries, movement, and other functional tasks before shooting.

Stage 3 – Pack Out

An additional 20 pounds will be added to your pack before completing a final loaded movement designed to simulate packing an animal out of the field.

SUNDAY – FIELD SHOT CHALLENGE

Sunday is a completely different event.

Competitors will navigate a 3D course featuring realistic hunting shot scenarios.

Examples may include:

• Kneel, then stand and shoot

• Draw from behind cover before moving to your shooting position

• Range the target from one location and shoot from another

• Limited shooting windows

• Awkward body positions

• Time-restricted scenarios

Every target presents a new problem to solve.

Women's Division

Additional divisions may be added based on registration.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

Saturday

  • Compound bow

  • Minimum of 6 arrows (more recommended)

  • Weighted pack (Men’s pack weight 40#, Women’s pack weight 30#)

  • Water and nutrition

  • Appropriate footwear

  • Field points only

Sunday

  • Compound bow

  • Minimum of 6 arrows

  • Rangefinder

  • Water and nutrition

  • Appropriate footwear

  • Field points only

PACK WEIGHTS

Official pack weights will be announced before the event.

Competitors should arrive with packs loaded and ready for weigh-in.

Additional weight for the Pack Out stage will be provided by TUFFSHOT.
